Root Canal therapy
At ONE STOP DENTAL CARE we believe that “nothing is better than your own natural teeth”. Therefore our treatment always endeavours to save the tooth if all-possible. When your tooth is infected and in great pain, in the past you may have thought most likely that you would lose that tooth. At ONE STOP DENTAL CARE with a procedure known as Root Canal Treatment (RCT) our team will be able to save the tooth.
What is RCT?
Inside the tooth is a hollow centre containing the pulp. This is a sensitive tissue that contains blood vessels and nerves. When the pulp becomes infected root canal therapy is necessary. RCT replaces the infected pulp in the tooth’s root canal with a root filling.
When would I require an RCT?
You may need a RCT if you have a severe toothache, usually along with swelling in your jaw and around your tooth.
Classic symptoms include:
- A dull or throbbing toothache
- Sensitivity to hot and cold that lingers for a long time
- Tenderness when chewing or touched
- Discolouration of tooth
Remember the quicker the treatment occurs, the better the success of the RCT, so early intervention is extremely essential.
